Back to Latest News
Enrichment Week 2026 once again provided valuable opportunities for students to broaden their horizons, develop essential life skills and create lasting memories beyond the classroom.
Year 7
Year 7 enjoyed a varied and engaging week of activities. Highlights included a trip to London to watch The Lion King, inspiring students through world-class theatre and the performing arts. In school, students took part in creative and teamwork-based challenges, including castle building, quizzes and outdoor activities. The week concluded with a visit to Stansted Castle, where students explored local history and heritage beyond the classroom.
Year 8
Year 8 broadened their understanding of the world through visits to a Hindu Temple and Walton-on-the-Naze. These experiences helped students learn about different faiths, cultures and coastal geography firsthand. Students also participated in a Duke of Edinburgh Skills Day, developing teamwork, resilience and leadership through practical outdoor challenges.
Year 9
Year 9 focused on future aspirations, conservation and personal development. Students took part in the Step Into the World Day, exploring STEM, Humanities and career pathways. They also visited Colchester Zoo to learn about conservation, sustainability and careers working with animals. The week ended with challenge-based activities through the Stubbers programme, helping students build confidence, resilience and teamwork skills.
Year 10
Year 10 students prepared for the future through a Careers Day featuring employability workshops, careers talks and virtual work experience. A dedicated Study Skills Day supported GCSE preparation, while a visit to Thorpe Park provided a rewarding opportunity to celebrate achievements, develop independence and strengthen friendships.
In-School Enrichment Programme
Students who remained in school enjoyed a wide range of enrichment activities, including STEM, humanities, sport, drama, music, art, food technology, engineering and careers workshops. Throughout the week, students developed key skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, creativity and problem-solving while enjoying new and engaging learning experiences.
