Drama Students Gripped by Production of 'Witness for the Prosecution'.
Back to Latest NewsOn Wednesday 7th February 2024, the drama department took 43 performing arts students from Years 10, 12 and 13 to see Agatha Christies ingenious courtroom drama ‘Witness for the prosecution’.
We stepped inside the magnificent surroundings of London County Hall and truly experienced the intensity and drama of Agatha Christies gripping story of justice, passion and betrayal in a unique courtroom setting – we were summoned for jury service.
The plot features Leonard Vole who is accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. The stakes were high, and as the accounts of the night in question unfold, we begin to act as detectives and make our own minds up on what we believe the truth to be.
All the students were completely gripped throughout the immersive experience and were stunned at the multiple, amazing plot twists at the end. The entirety of the coach journey home was full of theories and opinions of the characters in the production.
The students were impeccably behaved, and we even received feedback from the public relaying how well the students represented Great Baddow High School. It was fantastic to be able to offer our theatre loving students a unique theatre experience and will definitely be a repeat trip for our younger students when they reach KS4/5. Thank you to all involved.
