Year 9 have returned this week from a fantastic trip to Valencia. Accompanied by 5 members of staff, the students enjoyed a variety of cultural enrichment opportunities and can be highly commended on their Spanish speaking skills.

On Wednesday, they visited the famous City of Arts and Science and had a guided walking tour of the city and its beautiful cathedral.

On Thursday, two teams competed to create the best paella at a paella workshop and the staff had to blind taste to judge the winning team (the green team!). After a boat ride down the river and a visit to the town of Albufera, the home of paella rice, they then headed off to a flamenco show. Some of the students and staff even got put through their steps after the spectacle.

On Friday, they had the opportunity for a bit of souvenir buying and shopping and then they headed off to the Mestalla football stadium, for a tour of the stadium, the press room and changing rooms.

"Our students were regularly complimented on their superb behaviour; it was an absolute pleasure to accompany them."
