World Book Day 2025
Back to Latest News
Thursday 6th March was World Book Day. Every year we take part in this celebration which promotes a love of books and reading for pleasure. This year we had a number of activities taking place in the library and around school.
Our daily activities in the library included Matching Pairs, Pupil Librarian Activities, Guess Who’s Coming For Dinner, Lucky Dip Books and Guess The Lego Books. Students were awarded credits for taking part in all of our activities.
We also had a week long ‘World Book Day Book Scavenger Hunt’ competition where students went around school looking for the special World Book Day posters and trying to solve the clues.
Our biggest competition this year was our World Book Day Creative Writing Competition. Students were given six different pictures and then challenged to write a short story or poem, based on one of the pictures.
We had some absolutely amazing entries and it was very tough choosing winners and so a huge well done to all those who took part.
