Excellent Creativity in our 'Decorate your Door' Competition for World Book Day
Back to Latest NewsIt was very hard to select the winning door in the Decorate Your Door competition for World Book Day this year. There were some excellent creations and it was obvious a lot of thought and work had gone into preparing them. These are the results:
Winning Entry
1st – 8H2, Frankenstein. On brief, a book related to their house, Hawking. Creative and imaginative! Looked great.
Runners-up:
9E2 - with You are a Champion by Marcus Rashford. A great role model.
9E3 - with The Fire-Bird by Jess Ennis-Hill. Looks good with 3D model and excellent choice of book
10A1 - with Somebody swallowed Stanley. Colourful and imaginative.
10A2 - with Grow your own vegetables and fruit bible. An unusual choice of book but on brief and linked to Attenborough House.
There are some Special Commendations as well:
11A2 - Where the Wild Things Are. Their individual messages are great. Also, they have created a door every year since Year 7 and these are on display in their classroom.
8E2 - Ghost by Jason Reynolds. This tutor group all read the book Ghost together and then created their door.
Highly commended are:
7E3 - with their Our Sporting Heroes
7E2 - with Unbelievable, Jess Ennis-Hill’s biography.
All Year 7 and 8 tutor groups took part and there were doors from Years 9, 10 and 11 groups, particularly impressive for Year 11s as they are in the middle of exams.
In addition to our annual competition to decorate tutor room doors, students have been taking part in World Book Day events all week. The winners are:
World Book Day Bunting – Grace D. 7H2 and Vera U. 8A3
